SEN Presents: Tale of Two Windfarms, Mt Barker v Denmark

Our next "SEN Presents" on Monday 15 June showcases community wind farming.

Andrew Woodroffe from SkyFarming will compare the windfarms in Mt Barker with Denmark to illustrate what is involved in installing community sized wind farms in WA.
SkyFarming was co-founded by Andrew in 2003 and he was involved with both projects from concept to commissioning. Andrew previously ran a home energy efficiency rating business and has an Aeronautical Engineering Degree from Sydney University.

As a bonus, David Harries from EMC, will speak on the Network Death Spiral - Hype and Reality.

David Harris has run the Tasmanian government's Office of Energy Planning and Conservation, chaired a state government statutory body (overseeing network investment), and a state statutory body overseeing a state electricity code. He was appointed to two national energy policy panels, including a working group established to set up a mechanism for the national renewable energy target and another to establish national legislation governing third party access to gas pipeline infrastructure.

David ran the Sustainable Energy Development Office in WA for a brief term before defecting to academia and setting up and running the Research Institute for Sustainable Energy (RISE) and the Centre for Research into Energy Sustainable Transport (CREST).
