SEN Presents: Catching waves.... powering homes

Catching waves …. powering homes

Find out how cutting edge research (laboratory tank testing, supercomputing simulations), engineering concept design, validation and visualisation meet with real world developments in wave power.

Join us to see how the Bombora Wave Energy Convertor produces low cost energy using a submerged, flexible membrane that has good storm resistance and low environmental impact. Rated at 1.5MW, each unit has a streamlined design based on nature:  it’s simple yet complex, sleek yet robust. Each unit can supply renewable electricity for 500 homes or deliver power for 1GL of desalinated water each year (the equivalent of taking 825 cars a year off the roads).

Our October speaker is Shawn Ryan. He is co-inventor and co-founder and Executive Director of Bombora Wave Power. Developed locally here in Perth, this renewable technology development company plans to make big waves globally!  Are waves our future and is this the company to watch?

As well as our quick AGM, our Tec/Econ Team will be giving you a preview of their ground-breaking computer model enabling any electricity generation scenario to be modelled and costed.  This is sure to impress so come along and see this exciting programme in action!
